Drive concept The CableCorder CC5 has a single spindle drive with frequency inverter technology which is controlled by a modern data bus system. 1.2. Spindle design and yarn guidance We develop solutions that give our customers the added value they need. Newly developed machine components such as spindle pot, Cord Regulator and capstan set innovative standards in yarn guidance. 1.3. Maximum quality is indispensable Tire cord is rightly expected to meet the highest standards, because it must be extremely resilient and guarantee the best possible safety. Online monitoring of the quality parameters with our newly developed quality sensor reliably ensures the required quality. 1.4. Control panel (HMI) with multitouch technology With the new control panel and the completely revised user interface, controlling and setting of machine parameters has been made even more intuitive and faster. The operator receives all information required for the operation of the machine. 2. CC5 Reducing energy consumption and costs A core element of the development concept for the CableCorder is the consistent reduction in the energy required, compared to the previous generation. We have also remained true to this concept in the fifth generation. In this way, we give our customers the opportunity to improve significantly the profitability of their production. 2.1. Slim balloon technology In addition to the proven and patented energy-saving technology of the previous machine generation, the CableCorder CC5 offers even more possibilities to reduce energy consumption. Slim balloon technology not only increases economic efficiency by reducing operating costs, but also process reliability. 2.2. New energy-saving pots The spindles for feed packages 230 and 250 of the CableCorder CC5 are equipped with newly developed energy-saving pots. This makes it possible to reduce the size of the yarn balloon and thus the energy consumption. 2.3. Stopping the drives After the twist packages have been completed, all drives enter a predefined standby mode without delay. 3. CC5 Economical across the board 3.1. Same machine length – more spindles The CableCorder CC5 with spindle gauge 400 is available with up to 200 spindles. Compared to the previous model, this means an increase of 32 spindles for the same overall length. 3.2. Reduced yarn waste With the CableCorder CC5, yarn waste is significantly reduced by intelligent process control. Optimum package building in conjunction with precise length measurement ensures low waste during further processing, while permanent sensor-controlled monitoring of the process parameters ensures consistently high yarn quality. The CableCorder CC5 is equipped with a UPS (option) to make sure this takes place, even in the event of mains power fluctuations and/or power cuts. 3.3. Always at the optimum speed The production speed can be individually adapted to the respective requirements. This also increases productivity and thus profitability. 3.4. Low maintenance requirements The well-known solid construction in combination with use of high-quality components form the basis for a long, productive machine life. The maintenance work involved has been significantly reduced by completely redesigned assemblies. 4. Simple operation – best results 4.1. Optimum yarn path The new yarn path and the optimised arrangement of the yarn guiding elements deliver convincing results due to their convenient handling and allow you to work efficiently at the twisting position. 4.2. Cord Regulator Optimum cord properties result from a perfect interplay of yarn-protecting guidance by means of well adapted surfaces of the yarn guiding elements and equal yarn tensions of outer and inner yarn thanks to precisely calibrated and correctly adjusted inner yarn tensioners. 4.3. Package conveyor belt Transport of the finished cross-wound packages to the end of the machine. There they can be conveniently removed. The UHS January program will feature a recording from the 2020 Georgia Archives Symposium, held virtually on April 4th, 2020. The symposium’s topic, From Field to Mill Town: Cotton and Textile Culture in Georgia included numerous presentations which centered on Georgia’s textile industry in the 20th century. Among them was, Silvertown: From the Center of Tire Cord Production to a Local Treasure, led by a panel which consisted of Chris Jackson, Historic Preservation Specialist for WLA Studio, Jane Burdette, Project Coordinator for the Silvertown Historic Preservation Project, and Jamesan Gramme, Director for the Thomaston-Upson Archives. The municipality of Silvertown was incorporated in January, 1929, by the B.F. Goodrich Company, named for their famous Silvertown tire. During that time, B.F. Goodrich expanded the community by creating housing, recreational space, community buildings such as schools, churches, a movie theatre, and more for the workers of Martha Mill, their center for tire cord production in the South. In addition, the overall landscape of Silvertown was planned by renowned 20th century landscape architect, Earle S. Draper, whose work is represented in several entries on the National Register of Historic Places.

Yale Zhang is the founder of hardware start-up Safe Heart, which develops innovative wellness applications, hardware, and accessories. Their flagship product iOximeter is the first pulse oximeter to work on Android and iOS platforms, and a recent finalist on the Engadget Insert Coin competition. The iOximeter is a vital signs monitoring tool for smart phones. It is powered through the phone audio jack. Current features of the app include measurements of the oxygen saturation and heart rate, recording, and alarm functionality. Presentation will go over the conception, research, development, and commercialization of the iOximeter product. Future functionality road map will be revealed. A Q&A session will be held afterwards. The presentation will conclude with a live demo and a device giveaway.

(“SPLT”), an enterprise ridesharing platform changing the way people commute together. Ms. Babbitt is a marketing and brand strategist dedicated to fresh insights, authentic messaging and measurable results in sustainability. An experienced entrepreneur, Anya has founded and grown three successful companies and exited one. Anya Babbitt is not your typical entrepreneur. Number one, she is a women in a tech start-up, number two, she is the CEO and number three she is working in an area (transportation) that is dominated by men. Anya, however, is not concerned about the gender inequality or the odds of success–she is laser focused on changing the way people meet and move in urban environments. As a German immigrant, her great grandfather achieved enough success in the United States that he was able to send his five sons to Princeton Prep School and consequently to Princeton University. As a result, Anya believes that the United States provides the best opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship. She understands and appreciates the supportive environment that allows and encourages her to build and scale her world-changing venture. Anya hopes to inspire other women to pursue entrepreneurship and contribute to creating jobs and socially innovative ventures. Anya has guided SPLT from a small startup in NYC to being chosen for Techstars Mobility 2015 driven by Detroit. Her professional experience spans over 15 years working in the advertising, corporate communications, marketing, product design and sales sector primarily in Boston and New York City, including several years engaged in corporate brand development for multiple brands in domestic and worldwide locations. As a marketing entrepreneur, Anya has successfully provided marketing strategies to such notable institutions and luxury brands as WilmerHale (formerly Hale & Dorr), Trilogy Capital Partners, the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), Vicomte A., Hermes, Cartier, Bombardier, Fraser Yachts, L’Oreal, Maybach, the Vicente Fox Center of Studies, Library and Museum, Citizens Energy Corporation and the international and domestic Polo Clubs Association. She has led large teams of individuals working under tight deadlines and with large committed budgets. Her ability to plan ahead and execute under pressure allowed her to excel within the closely tied luxury goods market creating clients out of partnership opportunities. Throughout her career she has been engaged in testing the connection between purpose driven leadership and competitive bottom line performance. As a result, her teams have consistently outperformed peers in both growth and profitability. Since 2014, she has devoted her full attention to the emerging field of social and environmental sustainability, launching SPLT. Yale Zhang is a co-founder of Splitting Fares, Inc. Prior to entering the world of entrepreneurship, Yale’s background was in transportation and logistics, focusing on the warehousing and distribution of physical goods around the United States. In his capacity as Vice President of Wintao Global, they secured multi-year software development contracts with major transportation companies including Dynamex, Datatrac, Marc Global (now a subsidiary of RedPrairie). The insight into these transportation entities allowed Yale to leave and in 2007 start Clinical Guard, his first product distribution company, in medical supplies. The company has grown from an initial annual revenue of $400K to now $3M. Later, he started a medical device innovations company, Safe Heart USA, Inc, focused on creating vital signs monitoring hardware that works in coordination with smartphones running Android and iOS. As the CEO of Safe Heart, Yale has overseen the successful commercialization of research from Oxford University, Emory University, the successful raising of grants from the Atlantic Pediatric Device Consortium, and finally, in raising capital to initially fund a newly emerging business venture. Although Yale has achieved a certain level of success with his involvement in medical devices, his primary passion has always been transportation systems, specifically autonomous vehicles. Yale believes that ongoing technology research by many private and public companies will lead to car ownership reduction as vehicles become autonomous. When that happens, extraordinary opportunities arise for people to share vehicles. He joins SPLT with the intent to help change the behavior of people so that they are comfortable with sharing rides with other people so that everyone will be ready when the autonomous vehicle economy arrives.
