Tiara LED is a new generation of road luminaires dedicated to LED technology. Designed from scratch, it introduces new solutions to improve light distribution and temperature balance, thus introducing new standards in road lighting. The luminaire uses directional lenticular matrices made of PMMA or PC, thanks to which it is possible to obtain a light distribution meeting the lighting classes defined in the PN-EN 13201: 2007 standard. Components of renowned manufacturers and new LED they have an effect on very high luminous efficiency - close to 130 lm / W. The luminaire uses a solution that integrates the diffuser with the LED module. The body and the handle are made of a pressure cast aluminum. The whole has been powder coated in gray (RAL9006). The luminaire design allows for tool-free access to the electrical equipment compartment. The luminaire is characterized by a very high degree of protection IP66 and resistance to mechanical impacts IK09 (vandal resistance). The fitting has many improvements to facilitate and accelerate assembly: an independent body with an ergonomic suspension system of the light module; handle adjustable in increments: -5° to +15° (peak to pole); -15° to +5° (side to boom). Panasonic, in partnership with Karwood Ontario, is undertaking a new project that examines the capital and operating costs of a traditional HVAC ducted system vs. a ductless air-source heat pump (ASHP) installation in a typical single storey home. Two identically designed and constructed homes are being built; the first with a traditional furnace and AC unit, and the second with a ductless air-source heat pump. This project will examine the capital costs of both installations, and an energy model will be used to compare the operating costs of both houses over a 10-year period. Yale Zhang is the founder of hardware start-up Safe Heart, which develops innovative wellness applications, hardware, and accessories. Their flagship product iOximeter is the first pulse oximeter to work on Android and iOS platforms, and a recent finalist on the Engadget Insert Coin competition. The iOximeter is a vital signs monitoring tool for smart phones. It is powered through the phone audio jack. Current features of the app include measurements of the oxygen saturation and heart rate, recording, and alarm functionality. Presentation will go over the conception, research, development, and commercialization of the iOximeter product. Future functionality road map will be revealed. A Q&A session will be held afterwards. As the CEO of Safe Heart, Yale has overseen the successful commercialization of research from Oxford University, Emory University, the successful raising of grants from the Atlantic Pediatric Device Consortium, and finally, in raising capital to initially fund a newly emerging business venture. Although Yale has achieved a certain level of success with his involvement in medical devices, his primary passion has always been transportation systems, specifically autonomous vehicles. Yale believes that ongoing technology research by many private and public companies will lead to car ownership reduction as vehicles become autonomous.
